After Qualcomm/ASML and others, half of the CEOs of conductor giants visited China

Following meetings with executives from foreign companies such as Qualcomm, Apple, and Asma, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao recently met with executives from a semiconductor giant. According to the website of the Ministry of Commerce, on April 11th, Minister Wang Wentao met with Intel CEO Kissinger.

Wang Wentao stated that China's development will provide new opportunities for the world and a broader market for multinational enterprises, including Intel. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on issues such as maintaining the security and stability of the global semiconductor industry chain and Intel's development in China.

According to data, Intel's business development in China has a history of 38 years since the establishment of its office in Beijing in 1985. After decades of development, China has become one of Intel's most important markets. Currently, Intel has invested approximately $13 billion in China and employs over 12000 employees. In 2022, Intel China accounted for 27% of Intel's global revenue.

Despite facing multiple obstacles such as the pandemic, inflation, and geopolitical tensions in the global market in recent years, Intel remains optimistic about the development of China's semiconductor industry.

Previously, when Kissinger mentioned the development of business in the Chinese market at the financial report, he mentioned that although demand for data center business weakened throughout the year, Intel's decline in the Chinese market was more severe in the enterprise and cloud computing markets. But what is worth looking forward to is that he expects a certain degree of recovery in the Chinese market this year.

In addition, in February this year, Intel Senior Vice President and Chairman of China, Wang Rui, also stated that Intel and other companies around the world have very high expectations for China.

The latest news is that Intel Corporation has recently registered and established Intel Integrated Circuit (Hainan) Co., Ltd. in Sanya. It is reported that the newly established Intel Integrated Circuit (Hainan) Co., Ltd., as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intel in Hainan Free Trade Port, will provide cross-border software and hardware product distribution and settlement, software design and licensing, system integration, and talent training services to the Chinese market, as well as engage in equity investment activities for domestic start-up enterprises.

According to Hainan Daily, Intel's Sanya office started operating related businesses on April 8th.
