Shenzhen Semiconductor Field Characteristic College "+3" Again

On November 15th, the 2023 Xili Lake Forum opened in Shenzhen, and seven major scientific and technological achievements were released in a concentrated manner. In the achievement release phase, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) School of Integrated Circuits, Sun Yat sen University School of Flexible Electronics, and Shenzhen University of Technology (preparatory) School of Computing Power Microelectronics were simultaneously unveiled, and the three major universities simultaneously laid out the semiconductor field.

It is understood that the School of Flexible Electronics at Sun Yat sen University will build a strategic scientific and technological force in the field of flexible electronics, build a cutting-edge technological innovation research and development highland, and an innovative top talent training base, contributing to the construction of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics

Shenzhen University of Technology (to be built) relies on the Chinese Academy of Sciences' profound scientific and educational resources, first-class teaching staff and industrial level teaching platform to build the Institute of Computational Microelectronics. It is committed to cultivating first-class integrated circuit chip design talents and becoming the cradle of high-performance chip engineers. It is worth noting that the School of Computational Microelectronics at Shenzhen University of Technology (preparatory) is the first college in China named after "Computational Microelectronics", with Tang Zhimin, one of the founders of Longxin CPU and Haiguang CPU, serving as the founding dean.

The School of Integrated Circuits at Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) has a doctoral degree authorization point in the first level discipline of integrated circuit science and engineering, focusing on the urgent need for the development of Shenzhen's "20+8" industrial cluster. It has deep cooperation with leading integrated circuit enterprises and first-class scientific research institutions, becoming a high-end talent bridgehead and a strong engine of technological innovation to support the high-quality development of Shenzhen's integrated circuit industry.

The China Semiconductor Association once predicted that in 2022, the shortage of chip professionals in China will exceed 250000, and by 2025, this gap will expand to 300000. In recent years, with the policy of setting up first-class disciplines in "Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering", integrated circuit related colleges in domestic universities have emerged one after another. By strengthening the school enterprise cooperation in integrated circuits and cultivating counterparts, the college can effectively solve the problem of chip talent shortage.
