On July 24th, Wuhan Donghu High tech Zone held a press conference to release the application guidelines for Guanggu Zhongjin Fund and Wuhan New City Science and Technology Innovation Mother Fund, and the fund acceptance was launched on the same day.
Public information shows that Guanggu Zhongjin Fund and Wuhan New City Science and Technology Innovation Mother Fund are large-scale comprehensive funds jointly supported by the governments of Hubei Province, Wuhan City, and Donghu High tech Zone, established around the development of industries in Wuhan New City. They are also the first market-oriented mother fund to achieve cooperation between provincial, municipal, and social capital at the mother fund level. In the future, they will form a strong linkage effect through resource sharing, policy coordination, etc., to help excellent funds take root in the local area. The fund is managed by CICC Capital and jointly initiated by multiple market entities, with a total scale of 10 billion yuan.
The relevant person in charge of the Financial Bureau of Donghu High tech Zone introduced that in 2024, Guanggu Zhongjin Fund will create a multi-level fund group consisting of key area funds, characteristic area funds, and strategic cooperation funds according to the "2+5+N" model. Two key areas are optoelectronic information and digital economy industry, and life and health industry; The five characteristic areas include green, low-carbon, and new energy industries, intelligent connected vehicles, high-end equipment and intelligent manufacturing, modern service industries, and new consumption and future industries; N establishes strategic cooperation funds between industry leaders and large financial institutions.
Previously, Donghu High tech Zone has successively established the Optics Valley Industry Development Fund, Optics Valley Venture Capital Guidance Fund, and Angel Partner Fund, building a government guidance fund system covering the entire life cycle of science and technology innovation enterprises. As of the end of 2023, there are a total of 71 investment funds from the Donghu High tech Zone government and state-owned enterprises, with a total paid up fund size of 255.5 billion yuan.
